MON 2 JUNE

  • 12.30-13.45: Patient Safety – Hear how we can collaboratively and effectively utilise clinical audit to continuously improve patient safety, prevent avoidable harm and work together within our patient safety systems. The Clinical Audit Hero Award for Patient Safety will be announced and there will be the opportunity to hear the winner present their project for wider learning for us all.

TUES 3 JUNE

  • 12.30-13.45: Patient & Public Involvement – Hear how we can utilise patient centred approaches to delivering clinical audit with effective shared decision making for improvement. The Clinical Audit Hero Award for Patient & Public Involvement will be announced and there will be the opportunity to hear the winner present their project for wider learning for us all.

WED 4 JUNE

  • 12.30-13.45: Healthcare Inequalities – Hear how to measure within clinical audits for continuously improving to reduce unwarranted variation in health outcomes to support people to live well for longer. The Clinical Audit Hero Award for Healthcare Inequalities will be announced and there will be the opportunity to hear the winner present their project for wider learning for us all.
  • 13.45-14.30: Better cardiovascular care through data, with CVDPREVENT’s Dr. Peter Green, GP and Clinical Lead; Liz Corteville, QI Lead, NHS Benchmarking Network; and Dr Veena Raleigh, Senior Fellow, Policy, The King’s Fund.

THURS 5 JUNE

  • 12.30-13.45: Influencing Change – Hear how to achieve a collaborative approach to system wide change as a direct impact of clinical audit for improvement. The Clinical Audit Hero Award for Influencing Change will be announced and there will be the opportunity to hear the winner present their project for wider learning for us all.
  • 14.15-15.00: Data-driven improvements in maternity care: a regional medical director’s perspective, with NHS England’s Dr Edward Morris CBE FRCOG; and HQIP Associate Director, Tina Strack.

FRI 6 JUNE

  • 10.00-11.00: Clinical Audit Heroes Commendation Awards 2025, hosted by HQIP’s Rachael Sample, with presentations by winning projects that 1) use NCAPOP data to drive healthcare improvements, and 2) communicate effectively.
  • 12.30-13.45: Efficiencies – Hear how we take action on clinical audit outcomes. Can we measure the impact when introducing change and improvements that will release resource, avoid duplication and build an NHS for the Future that prioritises patient care? The Clinical Audit Hero Award for Efficiencies will be announced and there will be the opportunity to hear the winner present their project for wider learning for us all.

Clinical Audit Awareness Week 2025 #CAAW25 – Launch event on 12 March

We are delighted to announce the return of Clinical Audit Awareness Week (#CAAW25), which will take place from 2-6 June 2025.

To launch this year’s #CAAW25, we are holding a short online event on Wednesday 12 March, 12:30pm – 1:00pm. This will include a presentation by Professor Danny Keenan (HQIP Medical Director) and Vicky Patel (Chair of N-QI-CAN), who will talk about the impact of clinical audit and quality improvement, as well as details of how to get involved in this year’s campaign and awards.

What is Clinical Audit Awareness Week (#CAAW25)?

#CAAW25 is a national campaign designed to share and celebrate the impact of clinical audit and quality improvement in healthcare, and plays an important part in promoting the value of this work across healthcare.

Run in collaboration with the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP), this year’s campaign will again centre around the Clinical Audit Heroes Awards. Further information on the awards, and on the wider #CAAW25 campaign and events, will be available in future HQIP eBulletins, on social media (follow @HQIP on X and HQIP on LinkedIn), and posted to HQIP’s dedicated Clinical Audit Awareness Week and Clinical Audit Heroes Awards webpages.

Record Keeping Webinar

On Monday (8th Jan 24) we held a Records Keeping Audits webinar. The event was well attended and was hosted by Marina Otley N-QI-CAN General Secretary and introduced by N-QI-CAN Chair Vicky Patel.

Making Data Count Webinar 27th January 2022
